FR. CONSTANTIN ALECSE

AT THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF PRIESTHOOD

(Christmas Day, December 25, 2006)

Born on February 21st 1951, in Dambroca-Sageata Village, Buzau County, Romania. Parents: Enache and Anica Alecse. Married to Elena (born Tanase), teacher. Father Alecse has four children: Cristian Constantin, Marius Thomas, Gabriella Emy and Anne-Claudia.

Elementary School. Elementary school in the Village of Dimbroca, Sageata commune, Buzau County - Muntenia.

Seminary (1965-1970). The Orthodox Theological Seminary "Bishop Kesarie" in Buzau-Romania.

University Studies (1970-1974). The Theological Institute of Bucharest.

Diploma - He graduated with the thesis: "The Bible, Tradition and the Church in the Orthodox, Protestant and Catholic Theology ".

Post Graduate Studies (Ro) - (1974-1976). Doctorate courses in theology, at the Bucharest Theological Institute, under the guidance of the famous Prof. Dr. Dumitru Staniloae, professor of Dogmatics.

Post Graduate Studies, England. In 1976, passing the exams requirements to qualify for scholarships for studies abroad, and/or be considered a candidate for a priestly position abroad, theologian Constantin Alecse was awarded a scholarship at the Theological Department, London University (England). At the same time he was appointed to occupy the deacon's position at St. George's Romanian Orthodox Church in London.

Ph.D Theses Project: Under the guidance of the Cannon A.W.Allchin, dean of the Anglican Cathedral of Canterbury and chair of the Theological Department at London University, Father Alecse began to prepare his Ph.D. thesis on the subject: "Concept the Incarnation of the Son of God, in Anglican Theology, from the sixteenth to the twentieth century."

Ordination to Holy Deaconate: On 29 November 1976 Constantin Alecse was ordained to the holy deaconate by + His Grace Bishop Lucian Florea Fagarasanu, then Bishop of Paris (France), for St. George's Romanian Orthodox Parish in London, England, hosted by St. Dunstan's in the West Anglican Church (184 Fleet Street, London, England).

Ordination to Holy Priesthood. On Christmas Day, 25 December 1976, Fr. deacon Constantin Alecse was ordained to the Holy Priesthood by the same hierarch, for the same church “St. George's Romanian Orthodox Church”, London.

Distinctions. As a parish priest of the above-stated Church, Father Alecse was also appointed as "Official Representative " of the Romanian Orthodox Patriarchate to dr. Donald Coggan, Archbishop of Canterbury, Church of England.

In this capacity, Father Constantin was awarded by His Beatitude +Justinian, the Patriarch of Romania, the title of "Iconomus Stavroforos", thus becoming the youngest priest abroad awarded such a distinction.

Honorary Chaplain to Church of England. In 1977, Dr. Mervyn Stockwood, Suffragan Bishop of Southwark (South London Diocese), named Father Alecse “Honorary Chaplain of the Diocese of Southwark, Church of England.

As a representative of the Romanian Patriarchate to the Archbishop of Canterbury, and Honorary Chaplain of the Diocese of Southwark, Father Constantin Alecse participated in many ecumenical services, preaching Orthodoxy in many Anglican Churches and attended conferences, symposia and ecumenical gatherings in England.

Immigration in USA. In 1980, being accepted by +His Eminence, Archbishop Valerian under His Omophorion, The Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America (ROEA), Father Constantin Alecse emigrated to the USA, at the beginning of March 1980.

St. Paul, MN. From March 1980 to September 1982 Father Constantin served as parish priest of St. Mary's Romanian Orthodox Church in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Los Angeles, California. In September 1982, Father Alecse was transferred to Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church in Los Angeles, California, to the Office of Parish Priest, office held ever since.

Dean of The Pacific Coast Deanery (ROEA). In April 1985, Father Constantin Alecse was elevated to Protopresbyter (Dean) of the Pacific Deanery within the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of America, by Bishop Nathaniel (Popp).

Dictionary of Romanian Theologians Very Rev. Father Constantin Alecse , is acknowledged by the author of “The Dictionary of Romanian Theologians” (all Romanian) Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Dr. Mircea Pacuraru, for posting on the Internet of the whole book, called “ Dictionary of Romanian Theologians ”, with over 720 great Church Theologians and Lay Personalities, "from Daciens' times up to present" – according to the book's author.

PARINTELE CONSTANTIN ALECSE

LA 30 DE ANI DE SLURIRE PREOTEASCA

În Ziua de Craciun, luni 25 decembrie 2006, Parintele Constantin împlineste 30 de ani de slujire preoteasca.

O succinta biografie : S-a nascut la 21 Februarie 1951, in satul Dambroca, comuna Sageata, Romania, din parintii: Enache si Anica Alexe. Este casatorit cu preoteasa Elena, (n.Tanase). Are patru copii: Cristian-Constantin, Marius-Thomas, Gabriella-Emy si Anne-Claudia.

Studii: Dupa terminarea scolii generale (1958-1965), se înscrie la Seminarul Teologic Ortodox "Kesarie Episcopul" din Buzau (1965-1970).

Facultatea de Teologie din cadrul Institutului Teologic din Bucuresti (1970-1974). Licentiat cu teza "Doctrina despre Sfinta Scriptura, Traditie si Biserica in Teologia Ortodoxa, Protestanta si Catolica".

Intre 1974-1976 urmeaza cursurile de doctorat la Institutul Teologic din Bucuresti, sub indrumarea renumitului Pr. Prof. dr. Dumitru Staniloae, profesor de Dogmatica.

Studii de doctorat si paroh la Biserica Sf. Gheorghe (Anglia). In urma sustinerii si trecerii cu succes a examenului de primire de burse de studii, si ocuparea unor posturi de preoti slujitori la parohiile ortodoxe romanesti din strainatate, teologul Constantin Alecse beneficiaza, in 1976, de o bursa de studii de la Universitatea din Londra (Anglia), Departamentul de Teologie, fiind numit in acelasi timp, diacon al Bisericii Ortodoxe Romane "Sf. Gheorghe" din Londra.

Hirotonire întru diacon. La 29 noiembrie 1976, a fost hirotonit diacon de catre Episcopul Lucian Fagarasanu al Parisului (Franta).

Hirotonire in treapta preotiei. In Ziua de Craciun, 25 decembrie 1976 a fost hirotonit preot, de catre acelasi Ierarh, Episcopul Lucian Florea Fagarasanu pe seama Parohiei Ortodoxe Romane "Sf. Gheorghe", din cadrul Bisericii Anglicane St. Dunstan's in the West, din Londra.

Tot atunci primeste si misiunea de reprezentant al Patriarhiei Romane pe langa dr. Donald Coggan, Arhiepiscopul de Canterbury, oferindu-i-se si titlul de "Iconom Stavrofor".

Capelanul Episcopului Mervyn. In 1977, dr. Mervyn Stockwood, Episcop/Suffragan Bishop de Southwark/Sudul Londrei l-a numit capelan onorific al Diocezei de Southwark (Dioceza Anglicana a Londrei de Sud), Biserica Angliei.

Imigrare in SUA. La inceputul anului 1980, a emigrat in S.U.A., fiind acceptat de catre Arhiepiscopul Valerian sub jurisdictia Episcopiei Ortodoxe Romane din America, dela Vatra Romaneasca.

Preot în St. Paul, MN. Din martie 1980 pana in septembrie 1982, a slujit in misiunea de preot paroh al bisericii ortodoxe romane "Sf. Maria" din St. Paul, Minnesota.

Preot la Sf. Treime, Los Angeles, CA : In octombrie 1982, a fost transferat la Biserica Ortodoxa Romana Sfanta Treime (Holy Trinity) din Los Angeles, California, parohie pe care o pastoreste si astazi.

Protoiereu al Protoieriei Coastei Pacifice (ROEA). Din aprilie 1985, parintele Constantin Alecse a fost ridicat de IPS Sa Arhiepiscop Nathaniel la rangul de Protopop al Protoieriei Coastei Pacifice din cadrul Episcopiei ROEA.
